Filtertek Hosts Customer Event at New Mexico Facility

JUAREZ, MEXICO - Filtertek, a leading designer and manufacturer of filters for the automotive, commercial and medical markets, recently invited over 150 customers to attend an open house at its new Juarez, Mexico facility.

Guests of the new facility, a manufacturing center of Filtertek since 2003, received a tour of the plant's manufacturing operations that include full tool room capabilities and secondary operations such as welding, assembly, material preparation, and testing. Currently, the facility runs 24/7 and ships over 320 different parts at an annual rate of 50 million units.

"We held this open house because we wanted our customers to recognize how this facility will benefit their business," said Joe Jonker, Director of North American Operations. "This state-of-the-art manufacturing facility brings us closer to our Mexico-based customers and will be ISO 14001 certified in February 2005-meaning that it will meet the environmental policies and standards set forth by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)."

In 1997, the facility received QS9000 status, a set of quality system requirements specifically geared toward the automotive industry. It is expected to align existing American, German, French and Italian automotive quality systems and technical specification standards within the global automotive industry by becoming ISO/TS16949 compliant in 2006.
